Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is an American basketball professional for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. She played for Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before she was selected in the fifth round by the Wings in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. She has two brothers Mario (26 years older) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the youngest of her siblings she was the most loved of her parents. Gregory's father was a member of the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale has a thriving familial background. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul and her brother Dare plays football. Ogunbowale played during her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and was awarded Gold medals at both. The 7th of July 2014 was the day she was named to the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also named to the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first season as a collegiate player. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for the shots she hit during the NCCA Tournament.
