Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film as well as theatre. The most famous of her roles is Teri Joe the fiery lawyer in The Showtime program Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name upon her marriage. The talent she displayed in her acting was apparent in her early years. A Maryland high-school competition awarded her the top actress prize. Apart from her role at the theater and in the ballet company, she was also a part of the Washington Ballet Company.' She received the degree of Acting at New York University. Her first major role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought the most respect. The film was followed by films such as 'Boogie Nights Spark as well as Blue Streak. Contractor, born at Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and different cultures at a very early age. She went to boarding school between the ages of 7 until 9 in London. Later her family relocated to Toronto (Canada) which is where they lived for the rest of her childhood. Contractor trained and eventually became a dancer of classical style in Toronto. She was a student at an Etobicoke School of the Arts, a specialized public arts high school in which she was not just a dancer but studied theater as well. At 16 and after more than 10 years of dancing Contractor discovered she was looking to take up acting as a profession. After graduating high school, Contractor received a scholarship from the University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of sociology and psychology. She also earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor was a student who'd completed her university degree and auditioned at an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. The 92 productions she performed earned praise from Canadian critics. Contractor was offered the opportunity to join Stratford's conservatory course, in which the top eight men and four females are selected to take a crash course of 20 weeks on the classical stage that she gladly accepted. The role was secured for Contractor during the upcoming series of plays as she was offered the role for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
