Julie Chen Moonves will host the popular reality show that has been a summer sensation Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on the 5th of August to begin the third season. Chen Moonves has been involved in The Talk since 2010, when she was both moderator as well as host. Then it was when she began writing that her passion for writing was revealed. In addition, she won an Emmy for hosting, and an award-winning comedy talk show. The show was hosted by her co-hosts CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 between 2002 and 2010. She was the anchor for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program at the beginning of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the conflict in Iraq, among other major reports, for The Early Show. Following the 9/11 attacks the news anchor was sent to Cairo and located the main hijacker's father for an intense and shocking interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers including the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the Queen Rania of Jordan as well as former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has interviewed stars like Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton in the state of Ohio (1995-1997). Her previous jobs include working as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) as well as a desk assistant for the ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) as well as completing her final year of university in the University of Southern California. She began her career as an assistant for ABC News, working on the late-night news program Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among Moonves' journalistic idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and examined what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
